Among the largest religions of the world, Islam stands on the second number. There are more than 1 million followers of this sacred religion. Islam is a faith of the monotheistic based revelations which are received by the Holy Prophet, peace be on him, in the 7th century AD, in Saudi Arabia. The word Islam is an Arabic word, which means SUBMISSION, and it is what reflects the central tenet of the religion as to be the submitting to the will of Allah. The followers of the Islam are known as the Muslims.
According to the traditions of the Islam, it was the angel Gabriel, who appeared to the Holy Prophet, peace be on him, and transmitted the message of Almighty Allah to him. And it was the same angel who brings the messages of the Almighty to the previous messengers as Moses, Jesus, Ibrahim, and many more. In the Islam, it is the Muhammad, peace be on him, who is last and the greatest Prophet, peace be on him, and the revelations of whom are pure and safe for the world. These are the teachings of Islamic Prophet Muhammad, peace be on him, which are considered to be the safest and uninterrupted.
The Holy Prophet, peace be on him, spend a life spreading the message of unity of the Allah in a society of polytheists. For the purpose, he fled towards the north, to the city of Medinah to escape from the growing persecution. The event of migration to the Medinah, marks the origination of the Hijri and Islamic calendar. After passing eight years, the Muhammad, peace be on him, returns to Makkah again, but this time with an army to conquer the city of Islam. After 50 years of the death of the Holy Prophet, peace be on him, the entire Arabian peninsula came under the control of the Muslim rulers.
The Quran is the most sacred text of the Islam, which reduced in writing in the Arabic language, after almost 30 years of the death of the Prophet, peace be on him. It is the common believe of the Muslims that the Quran has the very words of the Allah. After the Quran, the very important source of the Islamic law is the traditions or the Sunnah of the holy Prophet, peace be on him. Other than the sayings of Muhammad, the traditions and the words of the companions of the Prophet, peace be on him, also has an important place for the Muslims. Muslims form all over the globe go for the cheap hajj packages with hajj groups and reperesent the unity as well.
